It also carries frustration, sleepless nights, doubt, and confusion. That's where Golden Postpartum Care steps in to make this transition as successful as possible.
A doula’s role in the first few months following the birth of a baby is to provide help and support to the family. Encouraging rest, optimum nutrition, and reducing stress, the Doula’s priority is to provide relief and create space for the family to bond and breathe together; creating a strong foundation from which to grow.
My Story
My name is Sophie Acker. I was born and raised here in Portland, Or and have always been involved in caretaking. At the age of 10, I would help at the neighborhood daycare after school. I began babysitting and at 16, was offered an after school nanny position. I worked for multiple families throughout High School and College, turning my love of children and caretaking into my career. Now, I am a mother of 3 and look forward to providing an environment of calm and care during this new time in your life. I look forward to affirming your families culture and parenting philosophies. I look forward to listening to your needs and cheering you on to be the best you can be. It really does take a village, and you don't have to do this alone!
